Entertainment Hall of Fame

Congratulations to John Gray ('68), playwright/composer/performer, who was honoured by the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame, which honours BC residents who have made an outstanding contribution to entertainment in British Columbia, across Canada, and around the world.

Educated at Mount A and the University of British Columbia, John was founder of Tamahnous Theatre which went on to produce his most celebrated work, Billy Bishop Goes to War (1978).

John has won the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award, the Chalmers Award and the Governor General's Award (all for Bishop...) and the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Rock and Roll.

In 2000, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada for "his contribution to Canada's cultural landscape".

John lives in Vancouver with his wife and their two boys.
